Nowadays there are 4.2 billion ways to access original art and support local and emerging artists, so I wanted to share how I go about finding artists, especially in a small town.
COFFEE SHOPS
It has become pretty commonplace for coffee shops to display local artist’s work for sale. Take a trek to your local coffee shop and see what’s on display!
EMERGING ARTISTS EVENTS
Do a quick google search or check your neighborhood community board to see what artist events are going on around you.
GOOD OLE’ INTERNET SEARCH
Nothing beats a quick instagram search. Find hashtags for specific work you’re looking for like #abstractart or #watercolorartist and reach out to the artists you find.
MY FAVORITE EMERGING ARTIST’S RIGHT NOW

@alissamorabito is as sweet as she is talented! She takes your photograph and creates a single line sketch out of it. They are so stunning.

I found Julie from @hilboldt while scrolling tiktok the other day and was just blown away by her timelapse painting videos.

I’ve actually got one of @houseofboysdesigns pieces in a client’s house and it is incredible work. You can buy her work directly from her or on minted.

Shameless plug; @cheryldorris is actually my aunt, but I wouldn’t put her on the list unless she was incredible and her photography speaks for itself.

I’m a sucker for plaster in any form especially in artwork. @kaleen.cameron is one of the best I’ve found.
I’m always on the hunt for good original art so send me your favorites!
