I recently asked you guys if you thought I should try my hand at the one room challenge, and it was a resounding “yes”. So, here we go!
The gist of the O.R.C. is that you have one month and one hundred bucks to improve one room. As someone who is always up for a challenge, I decided to work on our half bathroom!
Here’s what our half bath looks like now:

I’m trying to be a little more relaxed in here and play with colors and designs that I wouldn’t normally go for, because there’s relatively low risk in this challenge

Now, a hundred dollars doesn’t go very far in a bathroom, so I want to do my best with what I’ve got already.
I have a peachy tinted white paint on hand so I’ll work on getting this room painted and then, using 1×2 inch furring boards, I’ll create a board and batten type effect on the walls, looking a little like this bathroom, from The Sweet Beast.

Here’s the Planned Budget Breakdown
-Paint: $0

-Furring Strips (will need 13): $17

-Caulk, putty, tools: $0

-Rug: $25

-Mirror $31.50

-Artwork $0

-Planters $27

Total: $100.50

Eventually I want to trade out that vanity sink combo and maybe paint the tile floors, but that is a design for another time and another budget!
